Gordon Harrison Workshops

The Canadian Tulip Festival is proud to partner with award- winning Canadian landscape artist Gordon Harrison. Register now to paint one of Gordon Harrison’s current spring Canadian landscapes. At the end of this workshop you will have a finished oil painting. Gordon Harrison will guide you through the process. Note – painting cannot be sold and will be stamped.

Laura Daub Workshops

Workshop #1 1pm-4pm Saturday May 13th – Explore your creativity with basic drawing and painting techniques: contemporary tulips with Watercolour Pencils

Everyone CAN be creative artistically… awaken your individual creativity through Artistic Expression by training your right brain. Learn to draw what you see using simple drawing techniques that anyone can do in this stress-free and stress-combating workshop! No previous artistic skills are necessary.

Workshop #2 1pm-4pm Sunday May 14th – Textile Arts: Hand- Sewn Tulips with Modern Embroidery

Learn time- honoured embroidery stitches to create your very own modern tulip embroidery. Once you have a few basic stitches and techniques down, there is no limit as to what you can do with to embellish your wardrobe or to create your own modern textile arts! No previous sewing skills are necessary.


Class size 10 – 15 max participants

Photography Workshops with Janice Street

Native to Ottawa I studied Graphic Design at Algonquin College where I received my first professional training in photography. Photography started as a hobby then crossed over into my 30 year graphic design business. Over the past 9 years photography has been my main focus and income. I have produced books, greeting cards, DVD’s, and sold my work at many local artist tours and galleries. Photographing more than 35 years including 9 years full time professional shooting of stock, portraits, events, commercial and teaching intermediate and beginner workshops for 7 years and loving it.

Workshop 1 – Saturday May 13th – in English

Workshop for Beginners:  Camera Basics with cameras that have manual functions (Aperture & Shutter Priority)

* basic features of your camera ie., Fstops (aperture), Shutter Speed, ISO

* metering modes, focusing, white balance

* learn the foundations of great photography

* inspire you as an emerging photographer

* receive feedback while shooting tulips

Times:  Starts at 9:30am ends at 12:30pm

Location:  Info Center booth Commissioners Park at Dows Lake, in case of rains the workshop will be canceled and the participants refunded.
